SMART EMPOWERMENT FOR A NEW RETAIL FUTURE
November 2025, Da Nang, Vietnam – In Hoa Khanh Ward, the rapidly developing northwestern district of Da Nang City, a new urban landmark has officially debuted. The MM Da Nang Shopping Center, a 20,000-square-meter project that received a $20 million investment by MM Mega Market Vietnam (MMVN), has officially opened. The center will become the new commercial core of the region and set a benchmark for local green economy and sustainable business practices.
SUSTAINABLE COMMITMENT: FROM ARCHITECTURE TO OPERATIONS
MM Da Nang is a modern commercial complex with three above-ground floors. It offers residents and tourists a "one-stop" destination that integrates shopping, dining, and entertainment. As a concrete embodiment of MMVN's "Green – Digital – Sustainable" development strategy, the project was built according to the EDGE Advanced green building standard, which is certified by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). MM Da Nang pioneers the use of smart lighting, water-saving fixtures, advanced insulation materials, and an automated energy management system.
With the green vision set, the sustainability of the HVAC and refrigeration systems —the core energy consumers of the shopping center–became a key focus for the operator.
A PERFECT FUSION OF INTELLIGENCE AND EFFICIENCY
The project's refrigeration general contractors for refrigeration, Sai Gon Refrigeration Company and Tinh Ky Company, proactively contacted Güntner Vietnam's technical experts in hopes of adding a "green" touch to this green building through its refrigeration solutions. Both parties agreed on the need for a sustainable, energy-efficient cooling solution adaptable to Da Nang's hot climate. During the discussions, the project owner and contractors expressed strong interest in Güntner's latest IoT solution, aicore™, especially its aicore™ Cloud remote monitoring function.

TAILORED REFRIGERATION PACKAGE
Güntner ultimately supplied MM Da Nang with 25 evaporators and 5 condensers.
For the evaporators:
- Cubic COMPACT GACC series and Slim COMPACT GASC series: for conventional cold storage.
- Dual COMPACT GADC series (equipped with hidden condensate drain pipe): Installed in walkways with limited floor height to free up space and improve pedestrian comfort.
Four targeted solutions were provided for condensers:
- 2 Flat COMPACT condensers: Serving compressors chillers, and frozen display cases.
- 1 Flat COMPACT condenser: Serving the cold storage freezer unit using Bitzer compressors.
- 1 V-shape VARIO condenser with hydroBLU™ adiabatic technology: For the cold storage chiller unit.
- 1 small Flat COMPACT condenser: Independently serving the ice maker.
AICORE™ ENABLES SUSTAINABILITY
Notably, all four condensers (excluding the one serving the ice maker) all integrate Güntner's aicore™ intelligent controller and cloud monitoring platform. This achieves intelligent equipment management and real-time monitoring. The Flat COMPACT condensers are managed by the aicore™ air controllers, while the V-shape condenser with hydroBLU™ technology is equipped with an aicore™ fusion controller.
aicore™ optimizes the performance of all four condensers in real time based on ambient conditions. Through the coordinated control of high-precision pressure sensors and EC fan speed regulation, it precisely matches cooling demand and achieves significant energy savings. During peak summer temperatures, the aicore™ Fusion Controller automatically activates the hydroBLU™ adiabatic cooling system, which enhances the V-shape Condenser's heat dissipation capacity. This ensures efficient and stable system operation even in extreme weather.
Furthermore, the aicore™ cloud platform enables 24/7 remote visual operation and maintenance, automatically pushes equipment alerts, and allows remote monitoring of equipment status, providing reliable support for the project's long-term stable operation.
LOOKING AHEAD
The successful opening and stable operation of the MM Da Nang project represent another green benchmark set by Güntner in the Southeast Asian retail market. They are also a vivid example of how innovative technology can drive sustainable commercial development.
