Güntner launches New Impact° Label

Güntner, a global leader in refrigeration and heat exchange technology, has announced the launch of its ground-breaking Impact° label, which enables customers to select the most sustainable and technically advanced products for their needs.

Ultimately, the Impact° label will be applied by Güntner across its portfolio to every technology, fluid, refrigerant, accessory, service or solution that is sustainable, environmentally friendly, non-polluting or resource- or energy-saving. In this opening phase of the roll-out, it will be used on Güntner’s myGPC online product calculator to highlight natural refrigerants and Güntner’s new, efficiency-optimized defrosting technology.

“The aim of the Impact° label is to give customers the opportunity to create a system that offers maximum energy efficiency and reliability in operation while creating minimum negative impact on the planet,” said Herbert Schupfer, Head of Future Solutions at Güntner. “The importance of this cannot be underestimated: 95% of our products’ emissions take place when they are being operated by our customers.”

“By labeling the most sustainable and innovative system components on myGPC, we increase awareness among our customers of how they can have the greatest positive impact on the planet, and we empower them to make that choice.”

The launch of the Impact° label took place at the recent Güntner Impact° Summit 2024 in Budapest, Hungary, which showcased the company’s sustainable innovation to more than 250 European customers through a series of keynotes, interviews, panels, tech talks and case studies.

Last year, Güntner demonstrated its leadership in sustainability within the refrigeration and cooling sector by committing to six sustainability pledges to achieve by 2030. These included targeted reductions in carbon, energy and water intensity across manufacturing facilities, the use of eco-friendly substances across the entire product range, launch of the industry’s first truly circular coil, and a full transition to sustainable packaging.

“Cutting-edge technology and a pioneering commitment to sustainability are the fundamental strands of Güntner’s DNA,” said Michael Freiherr, Güntner’s Managing Director & CTO Europe.

“Every day we research, develop and evolve new technologies, enabling our customers to create sustainable refrigeration and cooling systems that are more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient than other solutions on the market. The Impact° label shines a light on our most sustainable, state-of-the-art products.”
