5 Cooling Stages – 5 Cooling Solutions

Every cooling journey begins with product cooling and moves through production processing, where different priorities emerge. As products advance to freezing and storage logistics, requirements shift again – while specialised non-food applications demand entirely unique approaches. Our strategy is to deeply understand your industry-specific challenges and equip you with the right cooling solutions at the right time. Learn how we support each stage, from first pulldown to special applications.

STAGE 1: PRODUCT COOLING

In the initial cooling stage, achieving rapid temperature reduction is essential to preserve product quality. Efficient cooling sets the stage for all subsequent processes, ensuring foundational temperature stability.
Working side by side with your operators, we set pulldown targets and select airflow patterns and hygiene options that fit the product. Our Process Air Coolers use hygienic casings, low draught distribution and quiet EC fans to help remove field heat quickly and stabilize the line.

STAGE 2: PRODUCTION/PROCESSING

Consistent temperature control during production is crucial to maintaining product integrity and efficiency. As process heat builds, reliable cooling systems become vital.
Together with your production team we map load peaks, washdown times and audit needs. We then configure ceiling mounted Process Air Coolers and plate heat exchangers with aicore™ fan control and CIP ready housings to hold setpoints and simplify hygiene.

STAGE 3: FREEZING

Freezing stages demand robust and reliable cooling to ensure product preservation. Achieving and maintaining low temperatures is critical for quality assurance.
As a team we define target temperatures, dwell times and defrost windows up front. Blast Air Coolers with floating coil construction, AC fans and hot gas or electric defrost help achieve deep-freeze performance while protecting tubing and product texture.

STAGE 4: STORAGE AND LOGISTICS

Storage and logistics require long-term temperature stability to protect product quality. Effective cooling solutions ensure consistent storage conditions.
After talking to your team, we model throughput, door openings and weather extremes. Pairing COMPACT condensers or VARIO dry coolers with hydroBLU™ adiabatic precooling helps cut peaks, while myGüntner provides you with round the clock visibility of room and unit status.

STAGE 5: EXPEDITION AND SPECIAL APPLICATIONS

During transport and for specialized applications, maintaining the cold chain is crucial. Reliable cooling solutions ensure product safety and compliance.
We collaborate with your engineers to fit space, interfaces and maintenance routines. Modular dry coolers and condensers integrate into skids and transport systems – from hydrogen processes to data centres – to maintain temperatures en route and plug in cleanly on site.
