UV-C Lamps
As confirmed by Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV, UV-C radiation effectively eliminates microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Güntner Air Coolers equipped with UV-C lamps thus help protect staff from airborne pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2.
Product Overview
UV-C is short-wave ultraviolet radiation that has been proven to inactivate microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. At the same time, it is practically harmless for humans, as long as they are not exposed to a UV-C source for a sustained period and at very close distance. This makes UV-C lamps installed inside a Güntner Air Cooler an effective and safe means of protecting workers from health hazards such as a COVID-19 – and extending cleaning intervals at the same time.
Once turned on, the UV-C lamps cleanse the air in the cold room of virtually all pathogens within shortest time. This has been confirmed in an experiment conducted by Germany’s Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV, the largest applied research organisation in Europe.
