SUSTAINABILITY HUB

Welcome to our dedicated sustainability hub, where we share the work being done to provide a better world for our families, staff and communities.

ONE FUTURE. OUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Our commitment is built on the actions we take and the decisions we make each and every day. It lives in how we partner better with others, how we nurture tomorrow’s talent, how we develop future solutions, and how we serve our communities.
It is time now to lead our industry, focusing all our efforts on this quest for the protection and preservation of our shared home.

OUR 2030 PLEDGES

The drive towards a more sustainable future is not fueled simply by intent, but by action and accountability. To achieve our goals, we have put in place six sustainability pledges, set in stone and company-wide, that we are determined to deliver by 2030. We pledge…

  • Tall gray concrete sculpture with a horizontal arm rises from dune grasses on a sandy beach, with blue sea behind and the word PLEDGE vertical on its side.

TO LAUNCH OUR INDUSTRY’S FIRST TRULY CIRCULAR UNIT

For a unit to be truly sustainable, we must partner with logistics and recycling partners while working closely with users and customers at all stages of the supply chain.

Our innovation, research and development teams will work tirelessly on the development of efficient technologies. This will support our ultimate goal of crafting the heat transfer industry’s first unit where every single element, from the packaging to the refrigerants to the cladding, are all 100% recyclable or reusable.

  • Large curved stone sculpture shaped like the number 2 with 'PLEDGE' along its curve, on a snow-covered mountain ridge at sunrise above clouds.

TO CONVERT OUR ENTIRE PRODUCT RANGE TO THE USE OF ECO-FRIENDLY SUBSTANCES

While substances like natural refrigerants have been a key component of our portfolio for decades, we need to take the use of eco-friendly substances further than ever before.

But we will not simply make these substances standard across our range. We will also streamline and simplify the process of selecting non-harmful options so our customers can more readily access these solutions.

  • Large stone number 3 with PLEDGE on its arc sits on a grassy hillside, with misty mountains and a sunrise in the background.

TO REDUCE CARBON INTENSITY BY 40% ACROSS OUR MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

For future generations to continue living comfortably and healthily on this planet, we need to be proactive in dramatically slashing our carbon emissions as an industry.

We will live by the mantra: ‘Avoid, reduce, offset’. Avoiding carbon emissions by changing to renewable energy sources like solar and hydrogen wherever possible. Reducing emissions by increasing efficiency wherever the switch to climate neutral technologies is not possible yet. Offsetting any remaining emissions.

  • A large gray concrete numeral 4 with the word PLEDGE on its base stands in a snow-covered landscape as the aurora borealis lights the night sky over mountains.

TO REDUCE ENERGY INTENSITY BY 10% ACROSS OUR MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

For an organization of our size every incremental step toward reducing our energy usage adds up to a better, less carbon-dependent future.

We will continue to innovate and embrace new energy-saving manufacturing technologies, from powder coating and welding to fabrication and packaging – embracing renewable technologies and reducing waste at every step.

  • A large gray stone sculpture of the number 5 with “PLEDGE” on the top bar, set beside a wide cascading waterfall and misty river.

TO REDUCE WATER INTENSITY BY 30% ACROSS OUR MANUFACTURING FACILITIES

For too long our industry has consumed too much water in its production and manufacturing activities. In a world where we are seeing water shortages in the very same regions as our own factories, it is time to fight against this.

Many of our factory sites already utilize leading-edge, water-saving tech to minimize their water withdrawal. Step one is to take that technology to our other facilities and then expand our remit even further.

  • Large gray sculpture of the number 6 with a hollow center, inscribed 'PLEDGE', set in a grassy rolling countryside under a blue, cloudy sky.

TO MAKE ALL OUR PACKAGING FULLY SUSTAINABLE

If we as an organization are truly dedicated to sustainability, we mustn’t stop at our products when looking for new ways to make a difference. We must look at every aspect of our units to maximize the positive impact we have.

We are already setting yearly sustainability targets for all our packaging factories. The next step is working with our suppliers and partners to find new sustainable solutions that will help us achieve our collective long-term goal.

The importance of our six pledges

Our pledges help us deliver on our sustainability ambition; we have pledged to reach six major milestones by 2030.
